Would it be a good bet to buy something like the Panasonic SA-XR10 as a starter item and go from there...or am I wasting my money on the SA-XR10 and should just get an SA-XR45 or 70...Does anybody know if the above mentioned units will carry their supposed good sound quality to the headphone jack also...

shouldn't be too difficult, but I would suggest ordering the service manual...there is a lot of good info there...Does any one know if it is possible to set the xr10 to that it is able to play in 'bi-amp' mode by using 4 of the amp's channels to drive a pair of bi-wire speakers...

Does anyone already found discrete power ON/OFF codes for the new Panasonic SA-XR10 Receiver...I followed your tip and used the ccf2efc-util on my ccf file with all the learned (and already found) commands from my DVD-XV10 and SA-XR10...Just wondering, is there an util out there that can create all possible commands for a given protocol and device(/subdevice)and can...

I've got a SA-XR10 which my PopcornHour A100 is connected to via S/PDIF (coaxial...I set up the SA-XR10 to receive Coaxial via the DVD input...To test this further, I played back a movie I remuxed the audio track to stereo only and my receiver indicates that it's only receiving left and right when playing back this file...

It seems that the general consensus is that the XR10 does not have very much video capability but is very good at audio...One guy who used to work for Panasonic said on Audiocircle that the XR10 was the best of all of the Pannys...He also said that they started cheaping out on the models after the XR10...was an XR10 receiver and, as an added bonus, an XP30...
