Every TV in the house is different and this one isn't the easiest one to watch even though it's the newest...There are lots of theoretical arguments for buying a 1080p and certainly the 1080p difference gains importance once you exceed the 50 inch threshold...Thirdly, it doesn't behave properly using the cable remote, so I'm back to using multiple remotes and my husband refuses to even try to learn...

I had never owned a big-screen TV before, so I didn't really know what a difference the screen size and quality makes when watching anything...The sound is fine for regular TV watching, but there is not enough bass to make movies jump out at you (but that is what a good DVD/surround system is for...I was looking at the TH 42PX80U, the 42" version of this TV because of its cheap price...

On the AVS forum some said it is good to break it in at least 100-200 hours before tweaking the calibration, and some say you dont have to break it in...I've heard nothing but good things about this model...With that being said, the TV you are considering is an excellent TV at a very good price...
