I want the 42z77u so bad but can't foot the 1399 from sears...If your still on the fence with this 50' PZ77U set...check CC online and get BB to price match it for 3 yr no interest! It is at a good price right now at CC...This does a pretty good job of stretching 4:3 content but it lessens the stretching...

I may not be able to tell how good it is alone but i sure as heck can compare to the other tv's at the same disadvantage...I honestly don't think you can just look at 2 TVs in a store and make a good comparison...It has an almost "satin" look to it but it does a good job of minimizing reflections from windows, lamps and such...

The new driver is capable of boosting the picture brightness and slightly reducing the minimum luminance...This was in the middle of summer--a good month or two before the PE700 showed up in stores--and the manual was already there...Any links to specs and photos...

I could care less about the VGA...I switched my order with the expectation that the better picture was with the PZ77U...hope I made the right choice...I mean I still can switch it around, set not coming till 9/29...I know D-Nice stated this information earlier in the thread...he has always given me good information in the past...New Panasonic Plasmas TH-42PZ77 & TH-50PZ77...

Anyway, I'm pleased that I won't have to trade in my 5084 after all! The HD pic is fantastic and the SD is good too...So if you are seeing mostly good reviews, I would take that as a positive sign...I know they are a forum sponsor so I assume they are good but I was wondering what people's experiences were with them...
