As a very rough guess I'd say that the 550 Viewfinder shows about 85% of the full image that appears in the LCD Viewfinder...As it is, the 550 still offers plenty of the other features you'll find on the best larger cameras...At least you can do that much of the time at 5X zoom with the 550 - when shooting MACRO and even SuperMACRO...Actually, for some reason I'm able to hold the 550 steadier than...
