I have a good old Pentax Optio S, the original 3 megapixel model...I haven't used the camera for about 4 months, and now it seems something is wrong with the batteries...

Oh one thing to remember that is sorta good and bad about the canon stuff is the EF and EF-S mount...I've heard pretty good things about the Canon kit lenses, though I've never owned a zoom before the one in my point-and-shoot 3040...Their images are good, but not amazingly better than my own 20D images...

The optical zoom is the same and the difference in the digital zoom is of no importance because digital zoom is worthless on a 3 megapixel camera...I would recommend that you purchase four NiMH batteries with a charger ($10 to $20...
