The rating says you can take 500 photos on a charge...For example, after taking approximately 8-10 pics I have already lost half of the battery power...any suggestions...I have tried two different types of AA rechargeable batteries with my S50 (powerex and Sony) and in each circumstance my camera seems to drain the batteries rapidly...

I have just started to use my new S50 camera and so far it has been fine except that it seems to really drain my batteries...The Optio S50 was designed with the CR-V3 battery in mind...

This camera has many manual functions which I am still finding out about so I would recommend reading the manual thoroughly ( as I seem to keep doing in this review ) to get the most out of this camera...Movies (at 30fps) are nice and smooth and sound recording is a good addition...Overall I would highly reccomend this camera, as it is amazing value for the price and takes good shots...

if that is no the case, either the card is fried or the parts inside the camera that connect with the card are dead...if ur pc an format your sd card, maybe ur unit might hv a defective...If a second card has the same problem try a smaller card (in MB GB) as maybe the card is too big for the camera...

This camera was passed down from my brother so I think it may be a bit outdated...It does work however with rechargable batteries, but again only for a limited amount of time...
