PHILIPS DVP5982 SUPPORT & TROUBLESHOOTING

NCIX FORUMS - Xvid support??/hard drive - Philips DVP5982/37 DivX Ultra Progressiv...

I'll see if I can't find some time this weekend to hookup a 3.5" external HDD enclosure for some testing...We do not recommend you make puchasing decisions based on Forum messages...It handles files from USB flash drives and microdrives just fine, but I imagine you'd need an ac powered enclosure, likely even with a laptop drive...

Just set up my new Philips DVP5982...

DavidS, that's close, but it would be better if both the component and S-video side were male...Because of my available connections, I'd like to hook it up to my TV via S-video...Just set up my new Philips DVP5982...

NCIX FORUMS - USB in plays movie on usb drive? - Philips DVP5982/37 DivX Ultra Progressiv...

Still, it looks like a good player for the price...There are 12 good reviews of this player on the Videohelp website (http://www.videohelp.com...They don't recommend playing high-bitrate Divx files from USB, and VOB's from USB seem to be almost unplayable due to the pause every three seconds as the buffer runs out...

Philips DVP5982 divx player

I DL alot of Divx/Xvid/avi's and only one was messed up as far as video/audio sync but that was how it DL'ed so it wasn't the players fault...I can get up to 5 movies on 1 DVD and they play back pretty good on my 52" projection TV...But it doesnt said that it can read qpel and gmc...

Problems with my new Philips DVP5982 DVD Player - Club CDFreaks / MyCE - Knowledge...
club.cdfreaks.com
I have just bought this Philips DVP5982 DVD Player from the Costco Store...I just thought I would throw in my experience with the RCA DRC285 DVD player since it has almost the same feature set as the Philips DVP5982 and retails for $58 at Sears, K-Mart etc...If it lasts then I would give it a pretty good bang-for-the-bucket ratio...
