The Ricoh GR Digital is announced today...The Caplio GR Digital will be available from October for £399.99...These features enable high resolution, high image quality from edge to edge, low noise in dark areas, natural tone and gradations, and good background blurring upon aperture release...Regarding your question about the GRD's noise...

The following review shows a short comparison between the Ricoh GR Digital and the Leica D-LUX 2 (identical in construction to Panasonic LX1...Leica is much better than the Ricoh GR...So you have to wait a long time with both cameras to make the next shoot...The Ricoh GR digital is my favorite in handling...

I've had my GR for a few days now, and generally I'm quite happy with it, it's main faults I'd read about in reviews so I was expecting them...The noise of the lens when the camera starts up and focuses is quite loud and seems to grate (compared to the Panasonic LX1, for example), but it's not really bad, just not what you might expect from a camera with the build quality...

You get one focal length, and if you don't like it, too bad...Still, we agree with the reviewer that Ricoh deserves kudos for taking the risk of creating something as unique as the GR, even if it is priced way out of line with its features...Either you're looking at a completely different type of Ricoh GR Digital to the one I have here, or it was reviewed by a steaming...

Has anybody got any hands on experience of the Ricoh GR Digital yet...It also got a pretty good review in Reponses Photo - Jean Christophe Bechet, who knows what he's taliking about, and is a big GR1 fan, described as not his dream compact, but the closest so far...From several GR digital images posted on the web, it is quite clear that my GR1s film camera -- even with 400...
