It's a n alright system better suited for a bed room or a spare room, but not for a dedicated home theater syste.I realize not everyone has deep pockets but it would be worthwhile to buy your components separtely and combine them...Free Shipping on orders $24 & up...I am wondering what you think about the sony dav-dx255 home theatre system? - Yahoo! They do indeed look like proprietary connectors...That should work fine as long as you make a good connection...You can either solder them together (my recommendation) or use those plastic electrical ends caps to connect the two...

The unit as some have said does load and change disks slow but overall this would be the only flaw I've seen...Once set up the sound is very good...puurrrfeect! You can spend a lot of money on sound systems, and it was a challenge to find anything this good under $1,000...
