The sound is good, but not great, although it performs very well at lower volumes making it ideal for a bedroom/small apartment/dorm room...The audio settings that make the MP3s on my ipod sound good are not the same settings you would want for a surround sound DVD and it's a cumbersome process switching between audio settings...
