i bought one with dvd but then i switched to a dv...the cons about a dvd camcorder is that it usually takes some time after you stop recording something so it can temporarily close the disk...with a dv when you stop it also stops it doesnt do anything else...

Can someone please tell me if this is a problem with this recorder or what I can adjust to have good video...Chances are good that poor quality DVD your shot - that disc would not be readable in that time while the miniDV tape would still be useful as an archive of the video you shot...FYI, both formats have their own pros and cons so it basically depends on if you would choose convenience over quality...

I just bought a Sony DCR-DVD108 Camcorder for a beach trip coming up...Does anyone know of a good battery to get for it, that might last 5 hrs or so...The NP-FH100 is the largest capacity battery that you can get for the DCR-DVD108...

My coworker has the mini-DVD Sony DCR-DVD108, and I tested it with iMovie '08 on both Tiger and Leopard...Granted, this means you'll need to buy multiple discs, since you won't be able to keep recording on the same one, but I think it's worth it to get your movies off...After finalizing, plug in via USB, close the DVD Player should it pop up, and open iMovie...
