I'd hate to spend the $80 to upgrade to iMovie '08 if there are still compatibility issues with this Sony DCR-SR45...Good advice but good luck finding a good quality miniDV unit any more, they are getting pushed out of the market...I have iMovie 7.1.1 and the only thing that happens when I connect my DCR-SR45 is that iPhoto pops up...

if the camera shows up on the desktop as a removable drive, you can drag and drop it in the log and transfer window and select the clips you want transfered...It's not DTS or anything, but it's good for the price...I did, it did, then I went to editing...
