Using the zoom on the touchpad only allows for the zoom to work at one speed, whereas using the joystick to zoom allows for zooms of different speeds...The camera has a hotshoe for adding a light or microphone to the camera for more flexible recording...I don't know how much, but I was able to download an update for free off the Internet...

I've had nothing but trouble with tapes, hello HDD (and eventually flash mem or MRAM), good riddance to tapes...The only thing really good about DV tape is that it's solid for archival puposes...Lets just hope that these units easily allow the hard drives to be replaced should they go bad...
