I am surprised that as an amateur model the P150 does a better job than the G3 in optical quality...I have even compared shots side by side after cropping the P150 shot to 4MP and can't honestly say that the G3's 4MP job is obviously better than the central 4MP from a P150's shot...The P150 wins by a large margin...The real-time histogram is a fantastic feature,...

Each camera (the Sony P-150 and the Canon SD-300) has their supporters...In my personal opinion, one of the real strengths of the Sony P-150 is its 7mp of resolution...Normally, I'm very Pro-Canon but in this case, you'd have to go with the Sony P150 - it has a whopping 7 megapixels...
