I also really like Nikon cameras, but the low end dSLR's I cannot recommend right now, Canon would be a better choice...What you really need is not a camera recommendation, but an education in the basics of photography...But my question is IS THIS A GOOD CAMERA...

I always carry a spare, fully charged battery for the inevitable "emergency...Most of the times while buying accessories you wonder if it would be as good as the ones you originally got with your purchase...This "new" battery of Sony's is a bit smaller than for the Sony DSLR series...
