According to the Sony DSR11 Manual to get 1394 to analogue pass through you need to switch OFF ILink/1394 E-E...I am pretty certain that Smartplay worked with the DSR11 when I rented one a few months ago...Have switched off as you suggested but this made no diffeence...If you conect the TRV900 to the DSR11 using iLink, and monitor the PAL output from the DSR11 can you see what the TRV900 is...
