I have the chance to pick up either the Sony SCD CE775 or Sony DVP-NS500V SACD players for about the same price...The DVP-NS500V uses a switching power supply because of the DVD capability, not good...I recently purchased a 775 ($134.00 "open box" at Circuit City...

The SACD playback is very, very good...I looked at the JVC and they are good all around players like Apex, but they are not as good as Sony units...It plays XVCD (which is great as few players do this correctly) and SVCD (which is just as good...

I have a chance to pick one of these up at a real steal closeout price and was wondering if this player was any good or is there any reliability issues with this machine?Thanks in advanced...It's a great player with pretty good picture and excellent SACD sound...

Well the initial impression was, i didn't know my phones can sound this good...Oh yeah, how do you guys feel about the Sony NS500V player...The only problem in your situation is that to get what I would consider a worthwhile upgrade in the sound from your headphones, you'd need to put down more cash than upgrading your source to the Sony NS500V...
