Anyway, I'm making use of a simple feature called Tele-Macro on the HDR-XR500V, which is not just for close-in "macro" subjects...osv, it sounds like you really need to actually use this product before reaching (wrong) conclusions...

Is it compatible with a G5 PowerPC...Even the Sony cams that use flash cards are a bad choice - you usually have to buy their magic gate cards...if it was compressed down to SD, then it would be fine, but that defeats the purpose of getting an HD camera in the first place...
