I like it because it's a full sized shoulder mounted camera...It does have a interchangeable lens system unlike the DSR-250, does the fact that it uses 1/3 chips not allow the use of 14x or 18x lenses...

HDV to MiniDV, HDV to flash, and 4:2:2 live record via HDMI...Hard to determine from the press release (or else I'm missing it...So if you don't like HDV, you can capture 422 (hopefully with a standalone device like the one proposed from CineForm...

That level of gear has typically been $20,000 and up...0 DVD color space, as opposed to DV which is 4:1:1 and, mathematically, when you get to DVD from DV you have 4:1:0...But let us not get carried away, shall we...

Well, no, I didn't really investigate it enough to have definite good or bad feelings on it...The viewfinder isn't as good to me as the one on my DSR-300A, in the sense that it "felt small...For a position, that seems like a good location, but it seemed a bit smaller than I expected, though this could be just relative to the full size of the camera...any info on the new sony HVR-S270U...
