I recommend this because of the much increased compression achieved (massively increasing storage capacity and battery life) and the ability to adjust the playback tone...On the negative side, I bought a black leather flip case which does a good job of protecting the player because the silly bag that comes with the player really lets it down...sonic stage is very good just don't like the way compalation...

Anyway, my advice would be buy a Sony NW-HD5H...Even more recent Sony mp3 players are not as good as this...If you take 10 mins to browse the software, its actually very good...
