cant they make a sidekick that can be used with vodafone...Sidekicks are very specific and their data services are hardwired to the carrier they're sold from, so I doubt you'll be able to get a free-roaming Sidekick anytime soon because none of the data features will work without a whole bunch of settings getting changed...All it'd be good for is calling and text messaging...Danger...

I have is a Black and White screen Sidekick...To use AIM for first time user, Sign up AIM on Computer first then you can use on AIM in your Sidekick...Tried Sidekick for a week in different locales covering a distance of over 100 miles with little or no service most of the time...
