Does anyone know if the bluetooth capabilities on the the tom tom go 500 is supposed to let you talk handsfree or just answer and call via the unit and still talk into your phone...I myself have a tomtom go 500 and have tested the bluetooth on both the samsung sgh-d500 and the ericsson v600i, both worked flawlessly...

Firstly, thanks to everyone who reponded to my previous post below - all your comments were of great help in making my GPS purchase decision...Are there any real advantages to opting for the 500 over the 300...All opinions and advice on the 300 vs the 500 will be much appreciated...Personally I dont find the 300 lacking in speed - Having said that the 500 was not available when...

First, I have upgraded the TomTom to the latest update, 5.42...During the first attempt at pairing the two the treo gives you the option setup as a headset or carkit...This post referred to the Tomtom 700 in the US but works for me on the Tomtom 500...the 700 is the 500 with a drive so i'm not surprised it worked...

700 - as 500 plus remote control, has disk drive instead of mem card, contains detailed maps for whole of Europe...One thing the 700 allows is cross border navigation i.e...You can advance order a 500 if you wish, though I believe there are a lot of advanced orders already...
