I have a 700 but instead of paying for the new maps I went for the XL for around £150, it works must faster but does not have the bells and whistles of the 700 range...It seems to be that you have to pay around £70 for this pleasure...It does seem costly but you do need uptodate maps if you are travelling abroad...

Don't mean to hijack this thread however I have my own query on the TomTom 710...When I test drove an Alta XL, the fitted TT did not have an external mic, you just used the one on the TT unit for the bluetooth handsfree...I see from TT website that the 710 comes with an external mic...Can anyone with the SEAT mount installed please tell me which of the sixteen pins on the lead...
