TOMTOM GO 740 SUPPORT & TROUBLESHOOTING
www.gpspassion.com
As a bit of background, I have used a Garmin GPS occasionally, but most of my previous experience is with Magellan products (most recently a Magellan Maestro 4250), and so my experiences with those will certainly color my perceptions of this one...By comparison, it is almost exactly the same width and height as the Magellan 4250, but a bit thicker...I spent a lot of time with the sun directly on the...

The 740 looks to be good for someone who doesn't have a cell phone, or their carrier rates are too expensive for data plans to make it functional...Also, the map released with the 740 is supposed to now be broken down in 3-minute intervals for many areas using IQRoutes...TomTom does hope to have a carrier signed up to supply HD traffic info by the time the one-year initial...

Voice recognition is not bad, and device can understand the driver even when there is background noise (radio...Hands-free capability with bluetooth link to mobile phone also works fine, and callers seem to get a good sound...I've had the 740 for a week and have been really impressed...

This is my second TomTom, the 740 is a good improvement on my XL...Good points, lane guidance is good, you can still see the screen in bright sunlight...
