i am looking to purchase one of these tvs and i was wondering if the 34hfx83 had any real advantages over the 34hf83...I do not think there is a substantial difference between the years but the MSRP on the 34HFX83 was $1,799 vs...I think the 34HFX83 has 1 DVI input and the 34HFX84 has 2 HDMI inputs...From what I saw, most retailers are unwilling to drop the price of the 34HFX83...

Toshiba has been no help - they referred me to the manufacturer, TechCraft, and so far I have not gotten anywhere with them...No, it probably will not work because the 34HFX83 has side speakers and the 34HFX84 has bottom speakers, so the width size is different...

If I set it to normal viewing mode, the picture seems to be the most crisp and the right proportion...Hit the "menu" button on the cablebox itself NOT on the remote...Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I'm picking up a Toshiba 34HFX83 next week and will be needing a new DVD...He gave me (what I think is) a good deal on the TV, 34HFX83 for $2000...

Would like 2 but my next pre/pro I buy (I will wait) should have enough to due the switching for me and use the 1 on TV...Store in South Texas area has Demo/Scratch and Dent 34HFX83's for 800-1099.00...According to members here, and overall, Toshiba has the best stretch mode...
