As others have said there are many good things about it...Incorrect Disc" appears on the TV screen, and the DVD player itself just says: bAD, which would almost be funny...imo, $55 is a bit much to pay for 1 year of movie watching, so I rate the Toshiba SD-3980 with 1.5 stars...

Having had my old DVD player die on me, I went down to the local consumer electronics store and bought this DVD player...Really, what's happened here is that low-end consumer DVD players are junk, and this unit has done the best it can to compete at its price range, but I still wouldn't recommend it to my friends...
