We don't have anything to compare it to but so far we are very pleased...Prices often look good until you find out all the extra items that are not included these days...Maybe I just got the bad apple but I had some real bad luck with this player...

The dvd player does have an HDMI hookup which I didn't try, but from everything I've read there doesn't seem to be any difference in picture quality between component cables and HDMI...If you want to give this dvd player a try I would recommend buying it from a local store which has a return policy in case you aren't happy with it, I wouldn't recommend buying it over the internet because of the hassle...
