Hi I just got a VP201s and it is hooked up with a DVI cable to my X800XT PE...Enabling the "Reduce DVI frequency" and "Alternate DVI frequency" options in the ATI drivers does significantly reduce the problem, but it still happens in 3D games, and only when the screen has significant black areas...This is double post, but I think it's more important for this thread too...
I have two viewsonicvp201s 20.1" lcd monitors that work ok, but are missing colors...Kinda looks like im lim running in 64k color instead of in the 16 or 32 bit resolution...
If they are the same panel why is the Viewsonic "HD 720p" ready and the Dell is not...Also, I read a review on the Viewsonic that says it runs the lower resolutions very good...I've played the GTR demo and don't think I'll be able to run the game at 1600 x 1200...
6800GT is faster(slightly) in almot every game...if you are going to stick some good cooling on it AND are willing to take a risk on the gpu dying (heard it happening disproportionally alot compared to other cards from heat) AND aren't going to do WMV HD anything...MPEG2 encoding and decoding acceleration works on the 6800 series cards which is fine for DVD quality video work...
I am looking for a good TFT monitor primary for gaming and 3d graphics...I saw the ViewsonicVP201s was used in the test setup in the review of Radeon's new X800 graphic card on this site, so I guess it would be a good buy...
