keep it external so you can use it on something else once you get bored of the DJX(you will...i had a DJX for about 3 months at one point...IC's dont always mean DSP(but in this case the DJX is a DSP driven deal...the DJX stuff was designed as a toy(but like i said there are a couple of cool voices on the keyboard...

Yamaha DJX - Future Producers forums
Does anyone know anything about the midi interface on the DJX-II...The Midi Out on the DJX II is almost useless - it only sends out midi clock and bulk dump data so you can sync it to another device or dump information for editing but you can't use it to control another device - no CC data at all...The original DJX is much better in this respect...

Anyway, what to say about the DJX that I can remember...The internal sounds are pretty obnoxious but I do remember the drum kits being quite good on this...Upon power up, if you forget to switch it off, you are punished with an embarrassingly bad "dance" pattern...The DJX and I had some good times...
