I bought a Yamaha 5750 from Best Buy on September 7, 2004...I was unable to return the 5750 due to being over 30 days...Feature for feature, the Yamaha HTR-5750 is an unparalleled home theater receiver at this price...1) High Performance Digital Circuitry, 2) High Density Cinema DSP Circuitry, and 3) Wide-Bandwidth Power Amplifiers to deliver superior sound quality...
The YamahaDV-S5750 easily plays discs that don't play in other players due to scratches or just due to the degradation that happens over time with burned discs...Highly recommended - don't hesitate to buy this DVD player...
Anyway, there are some differences in between those 2 players, good and bad also...I don't know what y'all are talking about regarding the bad remote and slow startup times...Considering what is on the market right now I would strongly recommend it...
Heard not so good things about the S1500 and the DV-S5750 seems to have pretty good specs, but it's old...I just order the DV-S5860, apparently is the same hardware than the C750 DVD changer that has very good reviews, just a one disc version...The 5750 is the lower player in the Yamaha line, but I don?t know about the sound and video quality, but it will not play DVD-audio...
Now I just need some great speakers and this system will be almost complete...The Audigy2 is not sounding bad at all now...As for the 5750 I can only say it is clean clear and crisp sounding on my old pioneers...
