Put another way, where are they physically plugged in to receive power...sounds like a possible ground loop issue...The picture looks very nice, but there is a humming noise that I haven't been able to identify...

i' say invest the $50 now and go 7.1, just in case a few months/years down the road, if you'd like to do a simple upgrade to a 7.1 system, you save yourself a few bucks...It's only $40 extra to move up to the 5960 over the 860 and that gives me the 1 more component input and 1 more coax audio input as well as xm and ipod...
Was so happy with that that I recently purchased a Yamaha HTR 5860 A/V receiver to get surround sound...If I run my my cable signal from the DVR to the A/V unit and then to the TV (as suggested in the Yamaha manual), I cannot watch TV without turning on the A/V unit...
