The only company that most people had nothing but good things to say about was Yamaha...The model I finally selected was the HTR-5440...

It may also mean changing the audio settings in the TV to "analogue" on that input instead of "HDMI...It sounds fine but unfortunately is refuses to go into Digital 5.1, it?s stuck on Pro Logic...As stated above, this may mean that the audio on the HDMI is then muted and you'll need to connect analogue audio cables from the device to the TV to get audio on the TV if desired...

I am leaning toward the Yamaha HTR-5440...My main requirement is good sound...I have heard very good things about it, and I can get it for about $250 at BB...
