I have had fair to poor bass response from my yamaha s115iv cabinets...If I replaced the woofers with "extended Xmax woofers" for longer excursion...

If you get the speakers used for a good price, go for it!! I don't care much for the JBL Eons unless you need a powered speaker, which you don't need if you plan on using a Yamaha powered mixer...Right now, I can get a great deal on either passive speaker set and a good deal on one of the powered mixers...The Yamaha 115 has been a popular choice for both mobile DJ and live sound...

No Opinion 2-Way FOH Speaker Standard 15" Speaker, 1" Tweeter Solid wood Technical Specs : 9 15" 2-way with 2" HF drivers Cast frame woofer basket Titanium HF driver 90 x 45 degree CD horn 1/4" Inputs I'd prefer Speakon, but this is an older model...I would recommend it to other musicians for the price vs performance factor...The frequency response really drops off at around 100 Hz...
