I know one of the advantages of having the Yamaha YSP-800 sound projecter is that you don't need an A/V receiver, however I already had one before I bought the speaker so now I'm looking for help in using them together...I had someone from an A/V store come hook all my equipment up, but he had never dealt with the YSP-800 and he said he could only hook it...

I've got a Yamaha YSP-800 plugged directly into a port on a MRF-350 using the ir jack on the Yamaha...The two YSP-1000 systems work great, the system with the YSP-800 seems to only respond to on/off and source commands when set to RF only, volume up / down and mute do not work unless I set the YSP-800 output to IR in the MX-900...Haven't...

If you have had the chance to test/hear the Yamaha YSP1000 or YSP800 - could you share your impressions/thoughts...You'll also need good reflective walls to get the best from it...the YSP-1 was really good, sound quality was good and the surround effects were impressive...As i'm talking about the YSP-1 I can only imagine the YSP-1000 is just as good and probably...
