So, if you have not yet tried the switch, check it out because it might be set at 140hz (high)position (really only good for HTIB systems or other systems with REALLY SMALL mains...In the case of the YST-SW216 unit, I would think that 140hz is too high, and 40hz is too low in most cases...In your case, I am guessing that the filter in set to high, so you can first check, and if yes, move...

I have never heard(or heard) of a bad Yamaha product...That and the Yamaha has that reputation of no matter what you get it's good...As far as receivers, it's hard to find a bad Yamaha...
